- for students to learn why/how things happen
- create a deeper understanding of the world around us (actions/reactions)
3. What are the major knowledge outcomes and what are the major processes/skills?
- students learn the scientific process (how to make a hypothesis, conduct an experiment and analyze the results) and are expected to plan and conduct their own experiment
- creates models to explain scientific concepts and hypotheses
- in terms of content, the students are learning about ecosystems (Life Sciences), Chemistry (Physical Sciences) and Earth's Crust (Earth and Space Science)
